Blue Ridge Mountains cabin FAQ
So we can get these out of the way:
- Yes, you may/may not see bears 🐻 (not guaranteed one way or another). No, you cannot feed them.
- Yes, there can be insects (even inside), especially during warm times of the year, and especially outdoors (cabins are in the woods). Mice happen too.
- Uber and Lyft 🚖 are spotty to non-existent
- Cell reception depends on the provider, but we have free high-speed WiFi.
- Many roads are indeed wavy (because they are in the mountains, not in the Great Plains), and the last 2 miles is a gravel road

How is staying in a vacation rental different from staying in a hotel?
Can I bring as many people as I want to stay at the cabin?
Strict occupancy limits apply to ensure safety and protect property infrastructure. You must adhere to the maximum allowable property limit or the number of guests specified in the Rental Agreement, whichever is less. Approval is required for day visitors. Non-compliance results in immediate stay termination and forfeiture of payments. Refer to your Rental Agreement, rental policy, and property rules for more information.
What is covered by the vacation rental cabin cleaning fee?
What is not covered by the cleaning fee?
What are the chances of snow when I travel? Does it snow in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and when?
While our mountains are not the Great White North, it does snow on occasion. There is a possibility of occasional but significant snowfall, and we advise our guests to either to be prepared for such possibility, have Travel insurance, or postpone their stay.
Do I need to follow your directions or use a GPS?
Because this house is so new, GPS may not have the exact location mapped yet. We recommend using the provided directions alongside GPS for a better understanding of the route. GPS works well on main county roads and in urban areas. Please avoid driving in the center of narrow mountain roads to prevent collisions. As a local courtesy, let uphill cars pass first when driving downhill on narrow roads.
Where do I get groceries for my stay at the cabin?
The closest ones will be Ingles Supermarket # 55 at 630 Champion Drive in Canton, NC 28716, and Food Lion Canton at 1 New Clyde Hwy, Canton, NC 28716. We suggest purchasing groceries before checking in.
