COMING FALL of 2026 - Blue Mountain Escape - NC is a brand new mountain chalet-style house, located in a private development of Glade Mountain above the small town of Canton in the Western North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains.

Want to get away from the summer heat? Blue Mountain Escape is a perfect summer destination because at nearly 4300' elevation, temperatures typically are 10-13°F lower than in Asheville, and rarely exceed 83°F. If peace and quiet are what you've been craving, this is the perfect mountain getaway for you! Blue Mountain Escape is a 35-minute drive from Asheville's attractions, including the Biltmore Estate and the River Arts District. The nearest supermarket is in Canton, 22 minutes away, where you'll also find dining options.

Outdoor activities in the area include hiking, whitewater rafting, kayaking, fly fishing, and skiing and snowboarding at Cataloochee Ski Area in winter (49 min). For outdoor fun, play corn hole or ladder toss. Take a break in the hot tub, gather around the fire pit and roast marshmallows, or kick back on the swing with a good book under an old giant oak tree. After a cookout on the gas grill, the gravel neighborhood roads are perfect for an after-dinner stroll. If you want a more challenging hike, enjoy access to over ten miles of hiking and mountain biking trails of the Rough Creek watershed preserve right out your door.

About The Location

• Access: Blue Mountain Escape is accessed via ~1.5 mi of private gravel road (after leaving the paved county road). The 17mph speed limit is strictly enforced. The road is narrow in some spots. Please be mindful of other vehicles and prepare to pull to the shoulder/yield if needed.
• During the winter months (Nov. 1st - Mar 31st) and inclement weather, a 4WD/AWD vehicle may be required to access this property. Please ensure your vehicle has sufficient clearance (i.e., SUV, truck, or raised sedan). Low-clearance vehicles and vehicles without 4WD/AWD are not recommended.
• Travel Insurance Recommended: Please consider Travel Insurance to protect your vacation investment from potential winter weather events that could prevent access to the home.
• Blue Mountain Escape is in a private community perfect for peaceful enjoyment. This community has a very low noise tolerance and is under a noise ordinance between 10 PM and 8 AM. Any rude/disruptive behavior, reckless driving/speeding, or partying with excessive noise will not be tolerated. If complaints are received, the stay will be immediately terminated with no refund.
• Absolutely no littering of any kind on the property or neighborhood roads. Place all bagged trash/litter into the outdoor container provided and lock it to prevent bear activity.
• The property is surrounded by acres of woods of the Rough Creek Watershed preserve. Sightings of bears, deer, reptiles, birds, raccoons, and all kinds of insects and arachnids can be expected and are NOT grounds for cancellations or refunds. Feeding wildlife is strictly prohibited.
• Firewood is not provided for guest use. If you plan on using the fire pit, please purchase wood locally before check-in.
• Complimentary Wi-Fi via fiber optic. Availability and speed cannot be guaranteed at all times.

Rates & Availability

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
